PRESS RELEASE

The project, “Shades of Light. Geographical glimpses between past and present”, will be hosted in the Swabian Castle of Bari from 15 February to 30 March 2020, in concomitance with the reflection and spirituality meeting “Mediterraneo, frontiera di pace” promoted by Cei with the participation of the Catholic bishops of twenty countries facing onto ‘Mare Nostrum’. Following its success in Singapore and at the Dino Zoli Foundation in Forlì, the exhibition will have a totally new look dedicated to Puglia.

The exhibition, promoted by the Regional Museums Office of Puglia, Dino Zoli Group, DZ Engineering and the Dino Zoli Foundation, is curated by Gigliola Foschi and Nadia Stefanel, with exhibits by Cosmo Laera, Luca Marianaccio and Pio Tarantini, three Italian photographers who have become worldwide spokespersons of the culture, history and richness of the sites that characterise our region.

Nadia Stefanel explains, “The three authors were invited by DZ Engineering and the Dino Zoli Foundation, cultural point of reference of Dino Zoli Group, to photograph six historical sites lit by DZ Engineering, from Castel del Monte to the Antiquarium and Archaeological Park of Canne della Battaglia, from the Abbey of San Leonardo of Siponto to the Crypt of the Cathedral of Otranto. A commissioned work, purposely entrusted to artists belonging to different generations which transformed into “other”: each author has put his research and his art into the photos, offering the glimpse of a country able to look to the future without forgetting its past”.

Gigliola Foschi adds, “Six places interpreted and narrated, following a light that unveils and reveals, observed in the dilated time of dusk, moment of change and intimacy, suspended between day and night, between a fading natural light and an artificial light that advances and creates new relations”.

Monica Zoli and Roberto Grilli, respectively Sole Administrator and General Manager of DZ Engineering conclude, “We hope  that the exhibition is able to arouse the interest of visitors, showing them how light can make the difference in enhancing the different locations, whether they are cathedrals, historical buildings or archaeological sites”.

The exhibition, which will be inaugurated on Saturday February 15 at 5.30 pm, is organised in association with the Embassy of Italy in Singapore, EuroCham, Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (ICCS), Region of Emilia Romagna and Region of Puglia.
