Curated by Nadia Stefanel
In June 2024 Singapore’s recognition as the second best Artificial intelligence hub globally further underscores the relevance of exploring AI in the context of Art.
This accolade emphasizes the country’s commitment to fostering innovation and advancing research in AI and facilitates interdisciplinary collaborations that push the boundaries of traditional art forms. By fostering interdisciplinary collaborations, sparking philosophical discussions, enhancing accessibility, Singapore invites exploration and celebration of the limitless possibilities that arise when art meets artificial intelligence.
As a result, this exhibition organized by Dino Zoli Foundation serves as a platform to showcase the cutting-edge intersection of art, digital artistry and AI, highlighting the transformative potential of technology in the realm of creativity.
The art collective exhibition Art in Motion aims to explore and showcase the unique ways these six selected artists engage with AI, considering the context of Formula 1 Singapore GP, an event synonymous with speed and technological achievement.
The art project is supported and promoted by Embassy of Italy, EuroCham, and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore and has further been selected by the Singapore Tourism Board to be part of the official programme of Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS24).
A line-up of artists
This year’s exhibition curated by Dino Zoli Foundation presents the works of six artists from Italy and Singapore, each bringing a distinctive and varied perspective on the integration of Artificial Intelligence in Art.
Francesca Fini, Debora Hirsch, Giuseppe Ragazzini, Martin Romeo, Jake Tan, Yeo Ker Siang create an immersive and thought-provoking experience, focusing on the prevalence of Artificial Intelligence in the dynamic backdrop of the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
Artists have harnessed AI’s capacity to process and generate complex patterns to create visually striking, engaging, and experientially immersive artworks. This symbiotic relationship between artists and AI is reshaping the artistic landscape, introducing a new vocabulary of aesthetic expression.
This extraordinary AI experience has been made possible through the invaluable contributions of our esteemed partners: E&E, ARTH, QSERVE, HIKVISION, and ILLUMINATE.
We extend our gratitude to E&E for their pivotal role in facilitating our collaboration with ARTH. Their efforts enabled us to showcase an art piece using ARTH’s state-of-the-art CAPSULE technology, delivering an immersive and innovative display. Similarly, QSERVE has been instrumental in securing our partnership with HIKVISION. Thanks to their support, we are featuring another art piece on one of the most advanced video wall monitors.
